Follow me on Instagram

This blog has been my window to the world to showcase my artwork ever since I started my creative journey. In recent years Instagram has gained a lot of popularity and momentum as a creative outlet. To live life to the fullest I like to use my time wisely and would rather create new inspiration for you than feeding two different media outlets with similar content. So for now I will only post on Instagram. Please hop over there to see my latest artwork.

Global Design Project #276

If you follow me on Instagram  or my blog you know that I like to play along with the Global Design Project weekly challenge. This weeks challenge #276 is case the designer Connie Collins. She is so talented and I love her art work.

Here is my take on her inspiration. For the background I die cut the chicken coop and corn from the Stampin' Up! Chick Dies set that will become available Feb.01, 2021, so mark your calendars LOL. It adds interest to the background but because it's cut out in the same color as the base layer it is very subtle and doesn't take away from the focal point. I also added some feathers as a fun element.

Global Design Project #273 | Color Challenge

Happy New Year 2021! I hope this new year is a healthy and happy one for you!

This week the new January to June 2021 Mini and Sale-A-Bration catalogs went live and they are chock full of super fun stamps, paper, dies and coordinating accessories!

One stamp set I skimmed past when I first looked at the catalog was the Friends Are Like Seashells. But when I watched the presentation at our virtual convention On-Stage-At-Home in November last year I totally fell in love with it. I feel the catalog pictures don't do it justice, especially the Pearlescent Specialty Paper. It's so pretty when you see it in person, a total must have!!!

And then there is the Gilded Leafing Embellishment. I didn't use the Hea t& Stick to apply the gold on this card, just the regular glue because I only wanted little accents. I let the glue slightly dry and then dipped a brush tip into the Gilded Leafing container and picked up some gold. This way the application more controllable.

The color inspiration came from the Global Design Project #273. Always fun to play along!

Global Design Project 259

Challenges are so fun! It really helps me to get my creative juices flowing. This card is for the Global Design Project 259, one of my favorite challenges. The stamp set I used is the HARVEST HELLOS. At first glance it might seem to be a fall / Halloween set but it is so much more versatile. Thank you cards, just a simple hello card, get well cards and yes, Halloween and fall too. It covers so many different occasions. And I am sure all the talented stampers out there can come up with even more brilliant ideas. Click here to order your set today. Oh, and did I mention there is a coordinating punch for the apple? No fussy cutting required, makes it real easy.

Have A Happy Day

If you have not seen the Rainbow Glimmer paper in the current Stampin' Up! catalog yet you need to check it out. I have been working with the paper all evening and there was not a speck of glitter anywhere!!!!!Love, love, love that! This card is quick and easy to make and the glimmer paper on the new magenta in-color really makes it pop.

Have a happy day everyone!

Global Design Project #253

This weeks Global Design Project #253 is a color challenge. The combination "Granny Apple Green", "Bumble Bee" and "Calypso Coral" is certainly creates a wow factor. I found it so inspiring that I created a whole stack of cards and had a hard time to decide which one I should submit.

For the flowers I die cut the base and the overlay from the same cardstock. To achieve the contrast I sponged the base with the same color ink and left the overlay untreated.

Another Bird

The Birds and More bundle with the Birds and Branches photopolymer stamps and the coordinating dies is so stinking cute! The two step stamping gives the stamped images so much depth. I find myself using all occasion sentiments lately. Oftentimes I make cards that are not for a special occasion and that way I can use them for pretty much everything.

Whiskey Business

Are you struggling to make masculine cards too? They were one of the biggest challenges for me. But now there are so many really cool stamp sets in the current SU catalog that make this task super easy! The first one I played with is the Whiskey Business. Combine that with the In Good Taste paper and it looks really masculine.

Global Design Project #248

This week's Global Design Project challenge #248 was CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) the designer. We were honored to CASE a card designed by the super talented Manuela Geiswinkler from Austria.

I used the fabulous Rainbow Glimmer Paper from the new 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! catalog. It's sooooo pretty and so sparkly! It is great to work with too because it doesn't cover your entire work area with glimmer.

Splash Vellum Background

This technique is so fun. And it was the perfect background for the Global Design Project #GDP247 theme "SUN FUN" this week.  I created a whole bunch of cards with it and every background is unique and different and it is always a surprise how it turns out.

I am so very honored that this project has been chosen by the design team to be a winner for this week's challenge!

I colored my velum with my Stampin' Blend markers. Then I spritzed some alcohol over the vellum. The ink gets pushed away where it hits the vellum and that creates super cool effects. Give it a try!

SPOILER ALERT - PREVIEW

One of the perks of being a demonstrator is that we get to see the new catalog a little early. We also get to pre-order some products from the new catty. It always feels like Christmas to open that box and see all the new stamps, dies, punches, accessories and so much more.

Here is a card I made with the new Birds and Branches set that comes as a bundle with coordinating dies. Isn't that so cute?

Clubhouse

Do you struggle with masculine cards? The Clubhouse stamp set from Stampin' Up! is the answer to that problem! Together with the coordinating dies and Designer Series Paper this bundle is so much fun! And pssst..... it's not just for guys but for all your golfing friends! LOL

For this card I cut out a window on the front so you can see through it and covered it with a window sheet on which I glued my golf ball, tee and grass.

I glued another golf ball, tee and grass as well as a frame on the window from inside of the card to give it a finished look from the that side as well. Once you open the card all those mini golf balls become visible.

I was on a roll with that set once I started creating so there is more to come. Stay tuned. Thanks for checking in today!

Global Design Project #240

This weeks Global Design Project #240 challenge was CASE (= Copy And Selectively Edit) the designer. Kerstin Kreis who is a super talented Stampin' Up! demo from Germany presented the inspiration.

I got creative with all my dies and punches. Did you know that the leaf die from the "Poppy Moments" makes a perfect unicorn? And the leaf and daisy punches makes great ears? I love to think outside the box and use my tools in new and unexpected ways.

Happy crafting,

Have Another Quaran-tini

A WHAT? A Quaran-tini? According to the sentiment this is like a martini  but you drink it at home. Just another one of the great digital stamps from the "Share Sunshine" set. This one challenged me to use some Petal Pink. I don't think I have used the card stock or ink pad yet. Shame on me, it looks really beautiful in combination with the Olive Green.

Global Design Project #GDP238

The Global Design Challenge #GDP238 had a sketch challenge for us this week with an ombre background.

I really struggled with this one. But then Stampin' Up! released the Covid19 Give Back digital stamp set "Share Sunshine" this week and I was on a roll.

Share Sunshine is a digital stamp set is packed with 15 pages both lighthearted and thoughtful sentiments and imagery relevant to the unique COVID-19 and social distancing situation we are currently in. As part of Stampin’ Up!’s Making a Difference program, 100% of the Share Sunshine PDF Download proceeds will go to COVID-19 efforts through these organizations. Download yours here now and start creating! It is available in English, German, French and Dutch.

Since we are physically distanced from each other, now is a perfect time to share sunshine with our friends and family by sending cards! I am having so much fun with this stamp set, the ideas just keep coming.
